Mentoring Programs

1

One on One & Group Mentoring

ONE ON ONE :

Mentors and their Mentee will be matched up together and the Mentor will be responsible for spending no more than 20 hours a month with their mentee. The mentor will be responsible for montoring their mentee's  progress in school. Keep the lines of communication with both the parent and child.

GROUP:

There will  not be more no more than six mentees per mentor in small-group mentoring situations. In a slight larger of 8 or more mentees we will add 3 more mentors. The program, will be a combination of one-on-one mentoring and participation in group activities provided more positive youth outcomes than youth who were not involved in mentoring relationships or only involved in group activities.

Incarceration Correspondence

As we all know having a parent incarcerated can be very devastating to a child. So therefore we will assist the child to write to their loved one to keep the communication going with the family and after it is complete we will mail the letter together.

Youth Incarcerated

Having a child in the system is also devastating to the parent and the family members . So while the youth is incarcerated we will assign them a mentor who is on the outside. Someone that will feed their soul and spirit with positive energy. So when the youth is finally released back into society he/she will already have a mentor established for them. This type of mentor ship is very important to the youth to help break the cycle of incarceration and teach them how to fish so they will be able to eat for a life time.
